The desktop is made of ½ -inch thick Turkish travertine, whose porous structure and natural spots create a rugged texture. The base is made of solid wood frame combined with engineered wood, and its surface is covered with American white oak veneer. Through a dense multi-step process, the wood grain texture is strengthened, creating a visual tension between the "heaviness of stone" and the "warmth of wood".
The rectangular outline combined with rounded corners not only conforms to the simple tone of modern home furnishings but also infuses traditional craftsmanship through the hand-joined techniques of the base (such as mortise and tenon joints or wooden bolt connections).
II.Materials and Processes
Physical polishing: Through multiple rounds of sandpaper grinding (from coarse to fine), a smooth touch is ultimately achieved while preserving the natural spots and layering structure on the stone surface.
Sealing protection: Use resin or wax liquid for permeation sealing to enhance anti-fouling performance (but the porous nature still allows for slight staining), and fill larger pits through sealing treatment while retaining small holes to maintain the natural texture.
Maintenance tips: Avoid scratching with sharp objects. It is recommended to use neutral detergent for daily cleaning and apply wax regularly to maintain its luster.
III.Space Adaptation
Modern simplicity: The contrast between stone and wood can become the visual focus of the space. Paired with metal or fabric dining chairs, it creates a collision between industrial style and a sense of nature.
Functionality: The base frame structure is stable and can withstand a static load of 200kg. If you need to expand the application scenarios, you can pair it with table flags or heat insulation pads to meet the needs of dining, working, and handicrafts, etc. However, it should be noted that it is not recommended to directly place high-temperature utensils on the travertine surface.
